Wanted simple stretchy 2x2 rib, just like the Super Simple Little Legwarmers (0-6 mo.).

But, following the example of baby legwarmers I saw at the New England Fiber Fest, I also wanted these to be a tad bigger, more like the Shaped Baby Leggings (5-10 mo.), so Emily can wear them far into her toddlerhood. So I considered both patterns and went my own way -

cast on 52 stitches (needed a 30” long-tail), joined and knit 2x2 rib in-the-round for 9”

Then I added the cute ruffles from Littlelegs!

I have no idea how long baby Emily will have to wait for these to fit her. When are a baby’s legs about the diameter of papertowel tubes? lol.

But 2x2 rib is amazingly stretchy, so, although Very Tight on my arms, I know that when Emily tires of wearing these as legwarmers she can turn them into armwarmers!
