Notes

My daughter picked out this sweater as something she would like. After a little prodding, I got a color choice.

Nov 26, 2014 It took a few hours to get this started, but I finally got to the point where the front, back and sleeves were being worked all in one piece.

Since my daughter was home for Thanksgiving, I had to work on this between her being in the house and out with friends.

Nov 30, 2014 Sadly, my sweetie had to leave Sunday afternoon for her long drive home. I’m always anxious when I know she’s on the road for 6-8 hours, so I’ve been working away on her Christmas sweater.

I’m not sure on a few of the sm, m1 and number of repeats now that I’m making increases in the body and sleeves. I’m going to stop for a bit, read forward, and reverse determine the number of stitches there should be in each of the 4 parts. Markers were added, then ignored, then mentioned again … aye-yiii-yiii …

Dec 2, 2014 I have all the stitches required for the front, back and both sleeves. Checked the schematic to determine when to divide body and sleeves; pattern seemed misleading.

Dec 4, 2014 I think I must have changed my row counter twice because my front cables looked too close together :-/ I took it off the needles and frogged back 6 rows ~ seemed like a good time to take a progress photo while I could spread it out!

Dec 5, 2014 Making quick progress now that I’m back on track; on the short row shaping before the ribbed bottom :-)

Dec 8, 2014 I had a little setback with the bottom ribbing. After assessing the flaring, I ripped it out and reknit with a size smaller needle. One sleeve is nearing completion, and the neckband is finished.

Twelve-Thirteen-Fourteen I finished the last of the second sleeve during a long ride in the car :-(

I added decreases to make the sleeves more tapered -- a feature I think will make my daughter happy. She’s not fond of loose sleeves.

I’m going to leave the ends unwoven-in so I can easily frog anything that needs to be reknit for a better fit. Yes, my princess is spoiled!

Dec 18, 2014 While going through photos for the slide show for my mother-in-law’s funeral, I found this sweet photo from my daughter’s graduation. My MIL was very proud of Lauren’s singing and acting talents :-)

Dec 25, 2014 She loves it!!! ♡
