ETA: 13 ripple rows to sleeves (not including setup row). Just in case I ever make again.
1/24/09- Finished tonight! This pattern was very easy to work. I really liked it w/o sleeves but Paul encouraged me to add them anyway and since I had enough yarn I did. I think I will make another more “bolero”-y version with some nicer yarn. I used self cover buttons and silk fabric, and I like the way it came out. Sleeves were 27 rows each, added about 5 rows of sc for button bands and 2 rows on the collar, 7 buttons total.
1/10/09- I added 4 extra stitches under each armhole (and just placed dc in each extra stitch so it’s an extra wide repeat) to make sure my arms won’t be suffocated. It’s looking nice, and so easy to work up.
1/9/09- Started this tonight. To make gauge, I had to make very loose stitches, and since I like a tighter look, I moved down a couple hook sizes and jumped up to the XL (I’d normally be somewhere between M and L). It seems like it will work with the math. So far, so good. If I can get the entire thing made with 4 balls of clearance yarn, this sweater will have cost $6. Woot.
