Photos illustrate the before/after blocking for this project. Love it! Read my blog post for more info.
Sep 6: Finished last night and blocked the shawl today. I wwas concerned that it would be too small or that I’d run out of yarn but I ended up with 20 yards left (now I remember, that’s why I used the smaller hook, because the lace skein the pattern calls for has 470 yards). Love.
Aug 28: Had some time to work on this today and reached the halfway point. Currently I’m doubting this is going to be large enough to wrap around my neck but hoping agressive blocking will help. Maybe I should have used the 3.5 mm hook size. Love this pattern and yarn, though!
Aug 22: doing something fun + just for me to take a break, using the yummy malabrigo I got at TNNA. (IF the color works well in crochet…if not, I have a backup!)
Started the shawl and I love how it’s constructed from point to point. It’s a little disorienting at first because of the way the edging is worked in short rows along the triangular edge after every fourth row, but once you get the hang of it it’s easy to keep up. I’m taking out the centermost dtr and replacing it with a tr for all but the top diamond in each larger diamond, so it doesn’t get too bunchy. Lovely pattern.
