i made this lovely hap with very special (to me!) organic shetland wool, a souvenir brought home from the isles in 2014. we visited the uradale farm on shetland and met the sheep, ronnie, sue and their darling son roan. ronnie even sheared a sheep while we watched! (so did mary jane :)

afterwards we gathered in sue’s kitchen for homemade soup and bannocks and then chose our wool. dear gudrun helped with decision making…

this hap used 5 natural wool shades:

flukkra ~ white
shoormal ~ light grey
glansin ~ silver grey
froad ~ fawn
moorit ~ brown

i love this hap, and i think they are my favorite thing of all to make. (kate davies asked permission to use this in her book of haps, but it didn’t end up going in.) :)
