i knit this in 2007, pre ravelry. listing it now (late) because it’s my favorite knit and a friend asked me for the pattern. i used blue sky alpaca, soft as a cloud! everyone should have a shawl like this to wrap to wrap up in.

i made this out of sport weight alpaca (i’m not sure if it was blue sky after all, maybe…), but it was the weight called for in the book (raverly pattern page says worsted). i don’t think i made any modifications. also i’m pretty sure i used size 6 needles.

this was a perfect travel knit! i brought it on a trip to new zealand, and knit away as we drove all over the north island, almost three thousand kilometers in almost three weeks, finishing about when the trip was done! you never have to mind your place in this one!

p.s. it is a GOOD thing i brought the yarn for to make this shawl, we didn’t find any knitting shops! but did see many many MANY sheep!
