A modern day fairy tale ❁ or, How to knit a love story…

1.) it began with an email: …hello… commission ?…wife’s birthday…probably think I’m mad…a stranger from the other side of the world writing you…

2.) first thought to mail ‘not for all the tea in China’. But…but…why of course I will!

3.) sneaky husband and cheeky me look through wife’s raverly favorites and make a choice.

4.) the plot thickens. 5.) I suggest wife’s favorite yarn dyer dye up the wool in wifes favorite color.

6.) emails fly around the world, England, USA east coast, west coast.

7.) the perfect yarn in the perfect shade arrives.

8.) knitting of the love shawl begins.

9.) it’s decided to show teensy bits of progress on Instagram, since husband knows wife watches both knitter and dyer

10.) shawl is finished and carefully wrapped and sent off across the pond ❁

today is Tanias birthday (january 9, well it was, i’m very late getting this on here!), I hope she always feels the utter love and devotion her husbands surprise birthday shawl intended for her. And for Ginny and I, we felt (feel) so grateful to have been a part of this true love story. ❁
