i named this nordic wind chumash shawl because it was made while camping on native american indian land this new years eve.

i made it for my dear friend, knitting in all the things she loves…it has an indigo sky and stars, an almost full moon and hiking trails and sacred sites. it has her very favorite campfire smoke. it’s not had a soak or been blocked so it wouldn’t lose any of these things i want to give to her.

i wanted to make it more of a shawl to wrap up in and so just continued with the pattern until almost running out of each color. there are 109 yds in the istex lett lopi and almost every bit was used. will get photos of it being worn to show the size (it’s perfect)!
