Started with ch 20 since I used a lighter yarn and a smaller hook. Its diameter is 19 cm which is ok for a potholder I think.

I really recommend this pattern to anyone. It’s very easy even for beginners I’d say and the video is really great. I watched it because I didn’t understand the written pattern and it helped me a lot.
