Very fun to knit… once you get the rhythm down, you can cruise along without even looking at the pattern… but you really need to pay attention at the end to get it to work out right.

I did the whole hat on dpns, but after a few drops, I finally thought to put little rubber bands on the end of each dpn, which worked perfectly. Next time, though, I’m using a circular needle!

The pattern says not to sweat it if the colors start to look alike, but it drove me crazy from about inch 2 to inch 4, and I changed one of the colors. I’m so glad I did, and I wish I’d done it earlier! But the recipient loves it, so that’s all that matters.
