As the most of my projects, I just have this yarn and can’t buy more from the same lot, so, I’ll weight the remaining yarn along the project, estimating what I’ll need from there, and hope that I won’t have just a bolero, but a cardi… :) That’s the biggest reason that I knit almost all of them top-down, the other reason it’s to be able to try it along the way.

NECK
Row 0: provisional co 57 (WS) (1+13+29+13+1)
4mm needles
Row 1 to 17: start 1st row of pattern increasing every row each side of shoulder “band” (4 inc each row) for 17 rows, at same time inc on each end by pattern (round neck)
Neck rib: pick 29sts from right front, 57sts from provisional co, and pick another 29sts from left front.
knit on 1x1 twisted ribbing, on 3,5mm needles, for 6 rows, cast off.

YOKE
Row 18 to 40: inc 2 sts each sleeve every other row, at same time inc on each end by pattern (round neck)
Row 41 to 48: inc 2 sts each sleeve every other row and 2sts on each side of armpit (body)

BODY
Row 49: cast on 1st each underarm when separate body from arms. (45sts each arm, 133sts (31+1+69+1+31) on body)

Next rows: keep pattern until waist band, decreasing 2st each side, 6 rows apart, then 8, then 10 rows (117sts) and stop on row 2 of leaves pattern (after 9 complete leaves pattern repeats on back), increasing 1st on each eyelet rib on this last row (to ajust sts for rib).

WAIST BAND
with 3,5mm needles:
2 rows garter, 8 rows 1x1rib, 2 rows garter

PEPLUM HEM
with 4mm needles:
Row 1 (increases): k2, * 3pfb,k1 * until end, k1
Row 2 to 12: k1, k1tbl, * p6, k1tbl * until end, k1
Row 13: inc 1 twisted st between each 6 purl sts
Row 14 to 22: k1, k1tbl, * p3, k1tbl * until end, k1
Row 23 to 28: k1, k1tbl, * p1, k1tbl * until end, k1
Cast off

SLEEVES
on the end got 45sts, pick 1st on armpit, k3tog on 2nd row (44sts)
Keep pattern until 11 repeats from neck, 1x1 twisted ribbing on 3,5mm needles, for 9 rows, cast off.

FRONT BUTTON BANDS
Pick up 5sts each 6 rows (kind of) (98 sts)
and knit 9 rows on 1x1 twist rib, cast off.
Placed 5 buttons along left band.
