8/18/11 Lesson one: ALWAYS DO A GAUGE SWATCH! The pattern calls for a size five needle, but the designer knits loose AND wanted a loosely knitted garment. You have been warned.

9/4/11 A little annoyed that I have to rewrite the right front pattern to avoid the yarn carries on the neck edge side. Basically, I am completely reversing the stripe pattern so it make a mirror image.

9/17 Finished. Also added a stitch to both ends of the front lace patterns for a total of 20 sts so that it would lay flatter and there wouldn’t be yarnovers on the ends.

Overall, I am happy with the finished sweater, but I think the pattern needed a LOT of interpretation and reworking to end up with the end product. I wouldn’t recommend this pattern to anyone who isn’t used to figuring things out on their own.
