I must say, I didn’t enjoy knitting the slipped stitch heel, and it puckers the heel in quite a bit. Maybe I’ll like the end product better once blocked. I don’t have sock blockers, so may have to pin them out.

While I understand that this kind of heel wears better, that is kind of unnecessary for bed socks… (doh!)

20cm from heel to start of toe decrease.

Finished sock 1 and it was a snug fit width wise, but a bit long length wise (good). The boy got new shoes today and I realised that he’s almost my size - perhaps should have made size medium…. hopefully once blocked it will be a bit looser.
