I used the concept of Antifreeze while making a point at the top like in Wilde (’cause hopefully that will look cute on this adorable, little King Charles Cavalier Spaniel). Again, the Sunrise Cowl inspired the colorwork despite it not being her actual pattern.

top of hood uses kitchener st for point.

Used seed st around face and ears.

Blu’s ears are 4 inches wide and slightly angled, so I bound off 24 sts in 7 rows on both sides, then picked up again from the middle 8 sts and co all the sts back on in the same pattern.

Because those 8 sts sort of hold the whole thing together, I knit a little patch to sew in and reinforce them. (seen in last photo)

By the time I was knitting this I didn’t really care about what direction the multicolored sts were “dripping”, so they are opposite from the sweater (not ‘dripping’ toward the dark teal color). I think it looks fine and I suppose makes it a little silly that I spent so much effort knitting the sweater pattern backwards just for that look. I think one has to be a knitter to even notice the difference. And I think it looks better this way on the hood, because they V in the same direction that the sweater color sts V.
