Notes

08-28-2022

Knit and washed swatch on size US8 needles. Really want to make sure I get gauge, since I only have the one skein. Considering doing a provisional cast on, so I can go back and make ribbing as long as possible.

09-11-2022

Ended up using size 7 needles to get gauge and a sturdier fabric. Did provisional cast on and knit up to crown, then went back and worked 1x1 twisted rib until I ran out of yarn. Ended up being the perfect length - I can fold up the ribbing or leave it down for extra coverage. This worked up really quickly and I’m really happy with it. Definitely felt and looked nicer after a good soak in warm soapy water to get rid of the spinning oils. The yarn bloomed and softened a lot. I’m also really glad I took the time to knit and block my swatch.
