This was a funny and lovely project, and I knitted it quickly and with great pleasure. :o)

We’re big fans of Miyazaki’s animated movies as they’re so poetic and amazingly drawn, so when I discovered this Totoro I immediately decided I would have given it a go.

The pattern was not so clearly explained, the chart was not the best one I worked on, but I tried my best to read it and after a few tries I found my way on it.

I used bits of grey and cream wool from my stash, and little scraps of black to make the face details.
I cut two little disks of felt fabric and sewed it together with black wool for the white part of its eyes.

As I’m not keen on mixed knitting and crochet parts in projects, I knitted the bottom of my Totoro as a disk on two needles and then I sewed it to the lower part of the body after filling it with Polyfil.

My Totoro came our bigger and fatter than I thought, but I like him this way and I’m very happy with the final result.
