Notes

This wool is very soft but, man, does it shed!

Feb 1/11: read comments on other Ravelers’ project pages. It seems people are having problems with the sleeves being too tight and 6mm needles being a bit big. I think I’ll start knitting the sleeves first. I’m also wondering, because I’m a 34”, whether I should go down to a 32 or up to a 36. I think I’ll do the 36 but with 5.5mm needles. See how that works out. Oh, and I’m thinking, if I can find some small circs, that I’ll make the sleeves in the round. Less sewing up afterwards.

Feb 7/11: Both sleeves done. They’ll fit my arms. Planning to start body today. Thinking of using a crochet provisional cast-on so there is no real seam when I pick up for the skirt.

Feb 13/11: All three pieces for the top are done. I used the crochet provisional cast-on (will have to use that again somewhere) and I hope it works. I guess now I have to put these pieces together so I can start the skirt. Did I mention I hate sewing?

Mar 31/11: I’ve been away from this project too long. I’ve lost my groove. When I attempted to sew the fronts to the back, they didn’t match. I was too frustrated (3 minutes in) to fix it so I just ripped all the pieces back, except for the sleeves. I’ll start them over and only work on this project until completion.

Oh, did I mention yet that I hate sewing pieces together. I HATE IT A LOT.

Apr 3/11: Sewed the underarms together - skipped the shoulder. Picked up for the skirt. DID ANYONE ELSE NOT HAVE ENOUGH PICKED UP STITCHES??? I had to increase on the first purled row to have enough stitches for the skirt pattern.

Apr 6/11: Making my way down the skirt. I’m feeling a little better about this sweater. It’s a bigger pain in the arse than I thought though. It better fit like a glove and I better love it! Haha.

Apr 25/11: Skirt done. I’m having a really hard time staying motivated on this project for some reason.

May 23/11: I must have ignored this sweater for a bit. I finally have the neck on. Now I only have to sew on the sleeves and block this baby and I’m done. Everyone seems to love it except me. I haven’t actually seen what it looks like on yet. I hope I love it. I just hate how many pieces there were.

Sept 9/12: I finally put the sleeves on this puppy! After over a year od nagging from my friends and family. It’s blocking right now. We’ll see if I wear it now.
