Notes

September 27, 2009 Using the last bit of some old skeins. The right-side rows, I’m working in regular single crochet, but for the wrong-side rows, I’m doing this “purl” single crochet stitch that David taught me. I like the way it’s looking, but I’m a wee bit worried I won’t have enough yarn to complete the whole project.

November 2, 2009 Picked this up again this evening. I switched to my size J Tunisian hook for this project. The base is still the same (a sc square in the round), but I ripped out the sc and sc “purl” rows of the side panel in favor of the Tunisian stitch. I experimented with the Tunisian Knit stitch, but I didn’t like the way it was coming out, so I’m sticking with Tunisian simple stitch. I’m pretty sure it’s using up less yarn and it’s going really fast, so I’m pretty happy right now. Hum. need to get pictures soon…

November 24, 2020 Well, that sure didn’t happen “soon.” This was sitting in a basket with other unfinished items and random leftover balls of yarn for AGES. 11 years, apparently? Only one side needed the stars added and a few of the seams worked up. I pulled it out a few days ago in case I had some time to finish it and send it off to a friend of mine who is doing some virtual shows this year. Found the time earlier yesterday afternoon. There was lots of ends to weave in, which was annoying as all heck.

I’m not even 100% sure the item I picked up is the actual one I described when I originally posted this project because except for the base, it’s completely done in Tunisian Simple Stitch, and my previous notes indicate that I tried out Tunisian Purl and Tunisian Knit stitches. However, the previous notes also indicate that maybe I abandoned the other Tunisian stitches and just went with TSS and just didn’t explicitly say so? Everything else seems to fit, though - the colours and the design of the embroidery on top - so I’m gonna go ahead and say they’re the same. In any case, it’s done! Now if only I could remember how much I listed it for in the past. I also still need pictures, don’t I?
