1/17/2015: SIRKA counter set to 3,5, & 8. See pattern to understand the placement.
1/18/2015: in the wee hours of the morning, I’m just about to start the first beaded section and the circus just unscrewed. Waa waa.
2/5/2015: After grounding the project for frogging itself, I’m ready for it to come out of the stash. I called Signature Needle Arts and asked about my dilemma. Turns out that there might be light at the end of the tunnel. They are shipping me a vinyl grippy disc to help secure the needle. Fingers crossed for another go!
2/9/2015: rubber disc has arrived. Back to the laces!
2/17/2015: Starting over and keeping a close eye on the needles.
2/23/2015: On the home stretch. I have two lace panels and one beading section to go.
2/26/2015: One last lace section to go!!!
2/27/2015: Finished and cast off with the Saturday morning Santini’s meet up. Need to weave in ends and block.
3/2/2015: Soaking in Unicorn Fibre Wash. I really like Unicorn Fibre products. The line is from Virginia, which makes it a local product for me. I originally bought the product as a hopeful laugh, because who doesn’t want to be ready when a dirty unicorn shows up? I’ve had great results with the whole line and was glad to use the last of my unicorn wash to bathe a bison. Name another craft where that is a truthful statement.
3/3/2015: After gently squeezing as much water out
as I could, I remembered a tip that was shared during the knitting circle at Uniquities, my LYS.
I now have a new use for my salad spinner. I was able to pull another 3/4 cup of water out of the cowl & I felt like the beads were safe.
I blocked it with my new blocking toys from KnitPicks. This was the first time that I used them and I really liked the uniformity of the blocking.
On the even rows of the beaded section, I’ve ktbl on every stitch above a bead.
