A friend wanted to knit the Essential hat together, but when I got to the brim, I had so much of the beautiful yarn left that I wanted to keep going. Another friend was on her second Musselburgh, and so that inspired the combination of the two patterns.

No idea what I increased to - I think it was a few stitches fewer than the Soho pattern called for - I wish I had done them all, as the hat is very tight pre-blocking.

Knit the inside to 8” and the outside to 9”.

Very snug hat - hope it grows a bit.

The yarn is amazingly soft and thick. It will be the warmest hat - if it doesn’t shrink.

Went down to US5 for the brim area, then a few rows on US4 for the purl turn, and back up accordingly.
