02-08-2017

I decided to forgo a traditional gauge swatch, and just use the first mitt as one instead. Unfortunately, I think this green is not completely right with this pattern. I think I’m going to try and find something lighter in my stash. It’s unfortunate, since I thought the color would have been just about perfect for it.

Also, decided to lengthen the bottom cuff to ten rounds of ribbing instead of the six specified.

I wasn’t ready to give up on the green yarn just yet, so I decided to use us 2 for the ribbing, and then bump up to a us 3 for the actual textured pattern. I think it looks much better, and you can really see the pattern!

I have finished the first mitt! I decided to do eighteen rounds of ribbing on the hand with a size us 2 needle, and also used a size us two on the thumb ribbing. I absolutely love how it turned out, and can’t wait for the second one to be finished!

The second mitt is almost finished! I just have the thumb to go, and then I’m on to the hat! I have plenty of yarn left, and I think that I might actually have some left over when the hat is all finished!

All finished with both mitts! The ends are woven in and all that they need is a bath! I love them already!
