Notes

I made this sweet fair isle baby cardigan for my new niece. They didn’t have the yarn the pattern called for at Purl when I went to purchase the materials for this project so I ended up buying the Swans Island Organic Merino fingering weight as a substitute. What a dream of a yarn. I had been wanting to try this yarn for a while and it turned out to be the perfect substitute for this pattern. It is so soft and beautiful to work with and a generous skein. I made the cardigan, cap and mitts with some to spare. The Gumnut blossom yarn was perfect in the small skeins. I chose a variety of peaches and pinks for the color work. My first go at color work and this was a great pattern to start with. Overall, I’m so pleased with how this turned out and I can’t wait to see my new baby niece in it.
