Notes

I went for Carnival yarn for the ribbing because Big W (where I bought the self striping yarn from) did not have the suggested yarn for the ribbing. It felt like a close match in the store, but once made up, the Carnival yarn is not a great yarn to use for the white ribbing - it is a little bit scratchier than the self-striping yarn and more scratchier than I’d prefer for a baby garment.

The photo suggests that you can get all the colours to match up on the arms and front at least. I didn’t see how that would be possible - and it is definitely not possible with the back. So I just made sure that the arms started with the same colour and the two front panels started with the same colour.

The pattern says you need two balls of yarn for the largest (6 mth) size. But I only ended up using one so I have an extra ball to make up another one now and see it a result like the pattern picture IS possible.

I made the buttons with this pattern http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/simple-crochet-bu...
