Notes

Doing a KAL with my friend Katie. We are planning to knit the yoke together one day a week and then to knit the body and sleeves at our own pace.

The first session went well, we knitted the first 25 rows of the yoke. We were daunted at first by the yoke chart, which Katie printed on an A3 sheet, but the pattern is well written and the chart is an excellent aid.

Sizing: Both Katie and I are knitting mediums for her 35.5 inch bust and my 36 inch bust.

I added another stripe pattern of darker blue (vintage heather) to lengthen the body (an extra 10 rows), but because I don’t need the sleeves to be longer, I added the extra stripe in, but 10 rows less of the main colour before the cuffs.

It’s amazing how the yarn changes when you wash it. I used a cold wash with limited spin on the hand cycle of the washing machine and it came out beautifully. The yarn is so light it dries quickly and required nearly no blocking as the measurements were perfect. I steamed it gently (despite the wool-shed smell, now there’s a blast from the past). Perfect!

Thank you Rililie, a great pattern, can’t wait to start on the next.
