Knitting for another film, this time a beautifully imagined fairy story. One of the characters, the mother, will be wearing a knitted wool dress outdoors. As I only have two weeks to make it, we’ve chosen Morris and Sons ‘Maya for a quick cosy knit. Although expensive, it knits up beautifully and is the perfect colour.
Lucy plays the mother and her measurements are:
Waist - 73cm
Bust - 82cm
Nape - elbow - 48cm
Upper arm - 27cm
Fore arm - 20 cm
Nape - floor - 140cm
Mid-patella - heal (standing) - 41cm
The director and costume designer loved the big cable pattern of Amy’s Roam Tunic, but to make a dress, I’ve made some substantial alterations, including leaving off the ribbing and lengthening the body to the knee and the sleeves past the elbow.
