I cast this on at an orchestra concert and did not read the instructions carefully enough. They are extremely simple so the fault was all mine. Here is what I did:
On size 3 I cast on 44 then joined the round and immediately started the ribbing. I usually join the round and knit the cast on once before starting any pattern but I wanted to try starting ribbing on the first round and it worked just fine. I ribbed for too long, 15 rounds.
Then I changed to size 4 and did the first decrease on row 16. Then I knit until row 37. Second decrease on row 38. Knit until row 46. Final decease on row 46.
Then on row 47 I began ribbing for 9 rows. I bound off with EZ sewn bind off because it is so easy and stretchy. The Bernat yarn is easy to work with the the self patterning is fun and pretty.
