I made 6 13”x70” strips and sewed them together. 190 ends/760 picks per strip. I was able to make 1 strip from 6 50g skeins (2 of each color) with very little yarn left over.

I sewed the strips together with herringbone stitch using the green yarn. I sewed it at 2 picks per stitch, pulling the edges together like a baseball. Time consuming, but even though it’s quite visible, I like the way it looks on both sides.

I didn’t know what I was getting into with the fringe. Tying knots in sport weight cotton hurt my fingers and I could only do 10” or 12” at a time, so the fringe process took several days.

Size, before washing/drying = 70” x 78”. After washing/drying = 59” x 75”. I wish the seams had been lengthwise, but it shrank so much in that direction that the seams have to go across the blanket, with the fringe on the sides.
