I wanted to make this Bumble Bee Cat Toy but I can’t knit in the round with DPNs (well, I can but the MonSter - multiple sclerosis - makes me too clumsy and uncoordinated to do so on only eight stitches) and so I am attempting to modify the linked pattern to be crocheted ‘á la Amigurumi’ instead.

I am actually not going to make the whole bee as such, this time. I am going to make an Amigurumi ball which may end up the same shape as the bee's body this time (and will be stuffed and have added catnip) on a knitted 'string' (I-cord).

I wish that I could select 'Both' in the 'Craft' drop-down for this project because I will be using both knitting AND crotchet!
