Notes

Need to block and photograph this.

Knitting yet another one (or part of one at least - maybe only 10 pattern repeats per half instead of the full 29 or 30?) to time how long it takes (well, how long it takes me to knit it, while I am reading or watching TV, of course) so that I can use the Free Pattern Testers group to test it.

Casting on the first half and knitting one pattern repeat took me 1 hr 12 mins. I am an average-speed knitter and the more you knit this stitch pattern the faster it goes. I think, seeing as the full sized scarf that I made using this pattern was 29 pattern repeats per half and allowing for time to graft the halves, the whole scarf would take 30-50 hours.

Maybe I should ask the Free Pattern Testers group to just knit a shortie (like I am knitting now) of 10 repeats per half. Lets see how long that takes.

ETA: Well, I have knit two repeats and then some stocking stitch in the round (about 3”) and am getting bout 34.5 st in 4” and 20 rows in 2” so that is 8.625 st/inch and 10 rows/inch. Not that gauge matters for this pattern but the Ravelry page seems to want me to put something in for it.

ETA2: I should work out what yardage of sock yarn is needed for a 10-repeat x 2 shortie scarf and also scale the time needed down.
