Modular 3-D puzzle ball makes a great baby toy.

I used worsted weight yarn instead of DK. Made the following adjustments: Size F crochet hook. Only did Rows 1-9 for the wedges. On the “wedge lids” - only did 4 rows that had 6 sc in it (the pattern calls for 5 rows). Used a larger size H hook to do the yellow edging.
