I’m using yarn overs instead of wrap and turns for the short rows.

I did the hands before the arms. From the wrists, I picked up and knit 7 stitches and then cast on 1 twice. I purled 1 row, which I treated as the cast on row.

As with my previous run with this project, I did not bind off and cast on at horizontal edges. Instead, on the row before the bind off, I knit one and then cast on one. For the bind off row, I used one needle to bind off the previously knit stitches and another to knit the cast on stitches for the “pick up and knit” row. For the last bind off stitch, instead of knitting through the first stitch and pulling yarn through, I slipped that last stitch, knit the first stitch of the next row, and then slipped the last stitch over.

Instead of safety eyes for joints, I used heavy-duty snaps. In theory they could pop off like actual Lego pieces, but I think that would strain the yarn around it too much, even with interfacing. That said, the limbs turn nicely with the snaps.

I embroidered the spaceship logo because why not-- it’s a blast!
