Instructions to reduce sleeve fullness
Since this is my second time through this pattern with acrylic yarn, I wanted to find a way to reduce the fullness in the sleeves. Here is what I did for this sweater (4T) and I am much happier with the results.
{These instructions replace Sleeve Short Rows, rows 1-12 every time the pattern asks you to work that section.}
Sleeve Short Rows
Row 1:K54 59, 67, 72, w&t
Row 2:P44 49, 57, 62, w&t
Row 3:K38 43, 51, 56, w&t
Row 4:P32 37, 45, 50, w&t
Row 5:K26 31, 39, 44, w&t
Row 6:P36 41, 49, 54, picking up wraps from the right side of the knitting to the wrong side of the knitting and purling them together with the stitches that they wraped, K5.
Row 7:K6065, 74, 79, picking up wraps and knitting them together through the back loop with stitches they wraped.
Row 8:K24 24, 28, 28, P31 36, 41, 46, K5.
Row 9:Knit across.
Row 10:K5, P50 55, 64, 69, K5.

Also, I only used 2 skeins, but finished with barely 2 yards left at the end. So buy 3 skeins in the dye lot and return one if you don’t use it--so glad I did (because, you know, if I’d only bought 2 skeins, I would have run out, haha)!

Update 3/27/14: I’m happy to report that this sweater is still fitting her relatively well 2 years after I gave it to her--so I added the two pictures with her wearing it (brown shirt underneath is long). I bet you’re all jealous that you don’t have 44” of snow in your yard this late into March!
