Will probably make the large. I have a big head… The adult large fit me perfectly. My boyfriend who has a small head tried it on and it fit him too. Though I assume he would never actually wear this.

My numbers didn’t match up by the end. I did an extra decrease round at the end. Also, I wrapped just the two knits at the sides instead of 4 stitches. Then when I joined in the round, I moved the start of round a bit so that I could wrap stitches in the same pattern that I had been doing it.

I wrapped yarn around the 5” part of a few index cards for the pompom. I feel like I used up to a 1/3 of a skein of yarn. But my pompom isn’t quite as dense as I would like it to be. Oh well. Love this hat!

Oh, and my twist ties are only 12” long. My strands are from my outstretched hand to halfway into my torso. Like 33”. The 18” ties felt too long. I don’t like how the ties are tied onto the hat. I will probably go back and make them braids with knots at the ends instead.

The hat itself, without the pom, took just under a skein.
