I’m knitting a second slouchy beanie, this time using a worsted weight yarn. I needed to start with a larger size needle for this one.

Construction:
Cuff: CO 72 using German twisted cast on
Knit 12 rows in 1x1 rib
Increase section: Place markers every 12 stitches; Round 1- * K to marker, M1R * , repeat from * to * until end of round. Round 2- K to end of round. Repeat rounds 1 & 2 three more times; 96 stitches.
Stockinette section: knit in stockinette until hat measures 8 1/2” from cast on edge.
Decrease section: Round 1 - * K to 2 stitches before marker, k2tog * , repeat from * to * until end of round. Round 2- K to end of round. Repeat rounds 1 & 2 ten times and then repeat round 1 two more times, 24 stitches remain. Finishing: cut off end leaving 8” tail. Thread through loops and pull tight. Weave in ends.

2013-12-14: Cast on 72 stitches using German twisted cast on. Knit 22 rows of ribbing and complete increase section.
2013-12-31: Complete hat body.
2013-01-05: Complete decrease section; finish hat.
Next Time
- I forgot an increase row when making this hat, so next time add the extra increase row and then 1 more decrease row.
