Notes

I am making these mittens up as I go along. My husband liked these mittens, so I am basing the design loosely on that. I really enjoy twined knitting, and the finished product is super warm.

CO 48 sts with brown
Purl first round
knit second round
begin third round with two stitches blue..blue and brown checkerboard for three repeats before beginning k1blue k1brown
Begin increasing for thumb on third stitch of first needle. This is after second transition to k1bluek1brown.
Continue increasing until you have 11 thumb stitches.
Separate thumb stitches and cast on 7 stitches and continue knitting mitten to length.
K2 k2togtbl knit across k2tog k2
mirror and repeat down to 12 stitches. turn inside out and graft with k2 together bo.

Pick up thumb
Pick up 12 stitches Knit first 2 stitches together knit across. in front, decrease middle three stitches down to 1 with s1k2togpsso. All together 20 sts. knit to length. decrease as top of mitten only k1 instead of 2 on edges. weave end through last six stitches.
