I made the 45”, these are the problems I had.
Issues with the pattern:
-For the fronts of the cardigan for the raglan set-up, there have to be three more or fewer stitches on each front. You should cast on either 129 or 141. I did 141. You need a multiple of 6 plus 6, which 135 is not.
-Due to the above, I had to slightly alter stitch counts throughout, but that’s not a big deal.
-On the sleeves/the texture repeat in the round, Rows 5&7 should be k3, p1m k2 repeat to end.
-For the hood the “shape top” does not have the right count of stitches. I still had the 3 extra stitches on each side, but even subtracting those it wouldn’t work out. For the shaping you work over 65, p2tog, etc. That doesn’t work in the end. If I only did have 136 stitches, 65 on each needle to graft would not work out. I had 145, I went to 70 stitches before the p2tog, etc. I had 71 stitches on each needle to graft together.
So like I said, not a huge deal, but enough mistakes that I wonder how they weren’t caught before. I’d still use this pattern as a guide to make another hooded sweater, but as written… No.
While in the end this was fine, there were so many errors in the pattern it was annoying. I’ll make note of them all tomorrow when I’ve sewn in the ends.
Error right away in the pattern. On the 45” and larger, for the two front sections there should be either 24 or 30 stitches, not 27, otherwise you don’t wind up with the proper pattern set up. It has to be a multiple of 6 (the pattern) plus 6 (before and after the pattern sections). 27 can’t give you that. I did 30 on each side because I know the person I’m making this for prefers a slightly looser fit. So I cast on 141 not 135.
