The yarn started out as a creamy white --Red Hearts Heart & Sole--and was kettle dyed by Kelly in her home concocted indigo bath--(3 skeins in all theses sock are using 2 of the 3 skeins)

A double knotted cast on with some ‘belt loops“ to start, then some ribbing. The stitch pattern is an oblique rib (i added 1 stitch after the ribbing--this stitch pattern works better with an odd number)

A conventional (if a bit long) Flap /Turned/ gusseted heel, with the stitch pattern continuing on the instep right down to the swirl toe.

Still to come: patch pockets on the back of the socks, and contrasting color ‘top stitching’--the pockets will have mock copper rivets, too. a basic sock--with just a few special details.

(oh, yeah, there will be a belt for top edge of the sock, too!)
