July 2013

• Started working on this sweater, decided to draft the cables from the lightened photo I found online.
• Picked out the perfect shade of burgundy at Fibre Space. Got 6 skeins just in case since Cables are known to “eat” yarn.
• Even after drafting it on graph paper had couple false starts. But now after attempt #3 seem to be under way. Love the winding cables in this. It feels as if I am painting a picture row by row. Finished the front pretty quick.

October 2013

• Finished the back, but it seems too huge in garter stitch and ribbed bottom. Need to redo the gauge. A lesson - never leave a project lingering for way too long. Mood and gauge and everything changes…
• Did the sleeves on my flight to PDX and back. Don’t like the look of the sleeve caps, would have to redo.

August 2014

• Almost a year to redo sleeve caps, to seam and do neckline. Not being lazy, but again.. left it lingering for too long. And with all the work was not motivated to finish. Decided to go to Rhinebeck this year so this sweater in finished form would be my Rhinebeck sweater as there is no time for anything else…

September 2014

• Finished!! Took my time working out the sleeve caps. In garter stitch they are quite tricky since they grow and I wanted to line up the garter ridges. OCD, I know!
• Took some modeled photos, the weather finally cooling off and I am getting very excited to be able to wear this sweater SOON!
