Substituting a yarn that is 8yards/ 50g heavier so pretty comparable although contains cotton/ rayon w/ silk rather than alpaca/ merino w/ silk so is stiffer/ less elastic than the original yarn. First swatch (unblocked) gets 19st/4” and 30R on 4mm despite my normally being a tight knitter. Am going down to 3.5mm but will knit a smaller size if this still fails to meet the given gauge (after reading the pattern through and calculating the change in measurements it will make).

Perfect tension on 3.5mm so cracking on :D

Gah! Birth of the Beast has curtailed all knitting. Hopefully i’ll get back to this before any chance of wearing it as a nursing top has passed!

With grandparents running interference I’ve been able to knit the fronts, sleeves& pockets in a very short space of time (~1 week). just the enormously long edging to finish off.

Done! Though I’ve yet to block it. Looks great. No real complaints with the pattern except that I ran out of CC before the pockets yet had 2 balls of MC left over. Worked 1st 10r of each pocket on CC them the last 50r in MC. NB 50g does 2 pockets 50r deep and the entire applied I-cord for the 38” bust.

Drape is a little stiff at present. Hoping this improves with blocking. Looks lovely and was fun to knit. Pattern is intuitive, really well written. In reality took around 3 weeks to complete with a 3 month break to have a baby!
