I modified using the instructions below, but ended up ripping back and adding an additional repeat to get it to the right size. The pompom is from Joanns.

I started this before Christmas thinking I might finish but I didn’t. I’m still hoping to get it done for one of my favorite little girls!

I’m modifying the pattern to fit a child using the modifications in this project - https://www.ravelry.com/projects/dcanna/copycat-cc-beanie-2

I switched out the Pom Pom color to teal before giving it to Sloane.
