I made this on straight needles, which was a mistake, in that it gave me tennis elbow which I’m still struggling with several weeks later.

I worked the elephants in duplicate stitch, which is a new technique for me, and it turned out to be easy and quite fun to do. Using duplicate stitch instead of stranding or (heaven forbid!) intarsia made the whole project go really fast - the knitting took about a week, and then the elephants were about another 4 evenings’ work. I’m really pleased with the finished blanket.
