Notes

Wild violet season is always a treat for me and my children as you may see here. This year these tiny, brave flowers, more purple than last year, have shown their faces much earlier than usual both in our garden and in the shady areas around our local vineyards. I wanted to create a cardigan which captured their elusive colour for my youngest daughter who is sensitive to the beauty of flowers. Old Maiden Aunt’s colourway ‘Bluebell’ together with Madelinetosh’s ‘Olivia’ were a match made in Heaven.

And speakiing of Heaven, if you haven’t sampled knittng with Old Maiden Aunt Alpaca and Silk blend I urge you to remedy this as soon as possible. The whole knitting experience was fabulous; Dani Sunshine’s tried and tested pattern (here) and this luxurious yarn with the promise of those tiny flowers to herald the onset of spring.

Wonderful.

Angélique’s flower wreath was purchased from this shop and her dress was found in my friend’s local brocante and dates back to the late 1900s. The lace collar has been embroidered by hand.
