It’s a great pattern, one which I am planning to follow again with a completely different colour combination. However the construction of the neckline had me puzzled for more hours than I care to mention! (I blame my left-handed brain.) Thankfully this amazing lady - who lives in Northern Norway and carries out research on brown bears came to my rescue. She has added a very helpful diagram for those who might also struggle with joining the neckline to the yoke.
From that point onwards it was plain sailing. I learned to knit twisted ribbing, do short rows with yarn overs and knit (more or less) jogless colour stripes.
This boy of mine is thrilled with his pullover. He chose the colours and the pattern. Almost ten, he is, fortunately, still a sweet, little boy; a weaver of stories, a classical guitar player and a huge fan of toy cars. He brings such joy to our family life.
Many thanks too to this lady too who took the time to help me make sense of the collar construction.
