Perfect, perfect pattern, exquisite yarn (MUST purchase some more) and a shawl fit for the most elegant of witches in time for Hallowe’en!

I would have liked to knit a repeat of chart two (four instead of three repeats) but I knew I wouldn’t have enough yarn. As it turned out I had just enough to finish Mustardseed with, fortunately.

I used size 5 Miyuki Triangular Beads in black and red.

I knit this pattern as part of a project with a very good friend who runs the most amazing hairdressers and who collects unique designs. He sells a Parisian perfume maker’s - Etat Libre d’Orange - range of exquisite perfumes. I was inspired by one of these perfumes Bijoux romantique when knitting this shawl. The red beads reminded me of rubies and other precious stones included in the evocative description of the story behind this perfume.
