A bunch of pale pink and white hyacinths purchased for my daughter, Angélique’s, fourth birthday tomorrow. I always gift her flowers for her special day and these were found in my favourite florist in the old part of Tours after a lovely morning drinking coffee with new friends.
Rosewater, stylised roses, Madelinetosh yarn in the Molly Ringwald colourway - think “Pretty In Pink” - a dream come true for me.
I love this pattern. It’s fabulous. I had to frog it twice (through my fault only) but the third time was indeed a charm. The BOR marker needs to be relocated left or right at the beginning of certain rounds which kept me nicely on my knitter’s toes. Despite my gauge, usually tight, I ended up knitting the child’s size. The pattern calls for ‘agressive blocking’ to reveal the lace design. My hat seemed to grow one size before my eyes!
Now I need to make one for Angélique!
