Notes

I adore this pattern! Dani, you are an absolute star! I love the fact that the stripes give endless possibilities of playing with colour and this lacework is just fabulous! I am embarking on a second shawl in a completely different colour theme for my best friend’s birthday!

I opted for size small (three less stripes sequences than the larger size) mainly because I suspected, rightly, I wouldn’t have enough of the Lilac colourway to complete: with one skein of each colour I had just enough. With a good blocking this shawl grew beautifully. I am most grateful for the blocking advice Dani offers in her pattern. It worked really well.

I was a tad dubious about using the Tough Sock (my first Tough Sock project) due to the 20% nylon content BUT it has worked up a dream. Once blocked it looks at feels wonderful. I am a huge fan of The Uncommon Thread’s BFL DK.

These pictures were taken first thing in the morning in our neighbouring vineyards. Héloïse, still sleepy, was wearing her latest dance show costume. Violet, red, and fuchsia pink are not her favourite colours but she smiled nonetheless!

This was a piece of flamboyant fun!
