This pattern yields a beautiful product, but it’s incredibly frustrating. Perhaps because it’s my first Drops Design project, or just an off translation, but I really struggled to understand the construction of this sweater.

Some notes: it’s constructed from the bottom up, in the round. Once you reach the under arm area, you cast on sleeves (also from the bottom up).

Once the sleeves are the correct length, you bind off the underarm stitches, and match them at the same place as the body underarm stitches. You then continue knitting up the shoulders, but back and forth, no longer in the round, all the while decreasing.

I chose to knit the decreases on the right side, in the pattern the decreasing tip is marked for the raglan edge, which sort of means nothing until you get there.

At the neck you change needles and knit a double folded collar. It just says to sew the stitches in ‘neatly’ and I couldn’t find any tips online for sewing a double folded collar.

It’s for a silent auction fundraiser, so I hope there’s a bidding war for it!
