Now that I’m getting the hang of the rigid heddle, I’m also starting to practice getting good using the pick up stick for a third shaft. The weft float achieves a warp float on the reverse side, and I’ve started using these vertical warp floats as “purls” to add some geometric textures.
This piece is warped using some beautiful Tosh that I picked up in Oregon at Twisted, one of the best shops I’ve ever been to on the West Coast. The weft is mostly Wollmeise with a touch of yellow alpaca to pick up some contrast.
