I made a couple modifications since I’m using a worsted weight yarn and was getting a gauge of about 20sts =4”.

• Cast on 96 stitches using German twisted cast on
• used the #5 for the brim and #9 for hat
• began decreases by k2tog, k10 around.

I think it turned out awesome. It is so squishy soft in the Malabrigo. I was able to knit to the full 9” before starting decreases (some Ravelers who used worsted said they ran short in yarn). Unstretched the brim measures about 18.5” but it stretches to fit my 24” noggin. Joanna has a little head so I’m sure this will fit her fine.
