Notes

A delightful couple - my little sister Dodie and Tom are newlyweds!
They were born in the same season of the same year, raised on the same suburban street, and brought up together by a remarkably close-knit, loving neighborhood (all of us)!
After these two spent decades in other marriages that ended, their lives took a surprising turn. Their always-and-forever friendship brought them back together!
It’s a happily-ever-after story for the ages. They were married in July, 2023.

A wedding gift crocheted by me for their Arizona home. May it bring coziness and warmth for snuggling on the couch during cold Arizona desert winters.

Rather than the PLT join directed in the pattern, I decided to use a sewn invisible join to create the granny square strip. I then used the same invisible join for adding the strip to the blanket.

I wrote a haiku today for my only section substitution mod:

a section named Fred?
vile boyfriend of bygone days
changed to zig-zag joy

Finished body of blanket today. Wet blocked to 45”x69”. I will add the border when fully dry. I plan to wash in washer and dry in dryer when completed so I expect some shrinkage.

September 25, 2023

Finished border. Washed & fully-dried on normal. Resulted in a super-soft fabric and finished size of 42”×66” (this includes the border, so approximately 5” shrinkage in both width and length).
